Michael S. Jones

With an economics degree in hand and faced with the decision to go to graduate school in economics, get a job, or do something else, Mike decided to head to law school.

While he doesn’t spend his days crunching numbers, the problem-solving skills he developed studying economics serve as the foundation for his success. For Mike, every case is a big puzzle and it’s his job to put the pieces together. “That's the fun part about it,” he said. “I come to the office every day, and I’m faced with problems. Every day is different, that's what keeps it interesting.”

Even though becoming a lawyer wasn’t necessarily Mike’s plan, his mother knew he was destined to be in law. To an outsider, Mike may have seemed simply argumentative, often questioning the best and most effective ways to complete tasks.

As the eldest of five children growing up in Connecticut, Mike learned multitasking skills, which he applies at the firm every day. “I have an ability to sort of manage several moving parts all at once,” he said.  Mike is very close with his wife Julie and daughter Summer, and in the same way he strives to be there for them in daily life, Mike attempts to bear the weight of his client's problems.

“I take [my cases] personally,” he said.

When it comes to zealously representing his clients, Mike isn’t afraid to take the path less traveled if it means getting the best results for his clients possible.  When Mike is your lawyer, you get someone wholeheartedly invested in your personal outcomes, you get a counselor for your case, and you get a holistic approach. Mike believes in the value of incorporating the client in the case analysis. “I've had clients remark on that process and appreciate that effort and that sort of analysis,” Mike said. “I take your whole business seriously.”

A lifelong fan of professional football generally and the New York Giants specifically, Mike has attended the NFL draft every year since 2005.
